Welcome Home!
We look forward to getting to know you, and to see how God is at work in your life!
We Love Jesus, One Another, and Those Around Us through the Power of the Holy Spirit
Yokota Church was started in the 1950s as a home ministry to military personnel stationed at Yokota Air Base. Through the years it has been known as Yokota Servicemen's Center, Yokota Christian Center, and Yokota ICA.
It has grown through these years to be a church which has a diverse community of followers of Jesus, who are empowered by the Holy Spirit, and fulfilling the purpose that God has for us as we allow Christ to shine through us.
We Are Called To Serve
Those who are serving at Yokota Air Base are literally “across the street” from Yokota Church. Our experience in pastoring the military community has shown us the need, as well as the impact, of reaching our military families when they are stationed overseas. Far from home, they find a home, a church, a family, and purpose as they become a part of the community of faith! If you are serving at Yokota Air Base, we want to thank you for your service to our nation. We also want you to know, that no matter how long you are stationed here, you are a part of our family!
We are honored to serve the Japanese community as we see God doing so much to reveal the light, love, and life of Jesus in this land. There is hope in Jesus, and we are blessed to serve those who have found the joy of loving and serving Him. Our services are in English with simultaneous translation through headphones. We have a strong, vibrant community of Japanese believers who share life in Christ through relationships and a shared joy in Christ. If you are Japanese, or have a Japanese friend, we look forward to connecting you with the wonderful Japanese-speaking members of our family.
Tokyo is one of the largest cities in the world, and people come from all places and backgrounds. Ministry in this International context allows us to pour into people who will either remain in Tokyo and minister to others, or will return to their country and make an eternal difference in places that sometimes we cannot even reach! This is an exciting time to influence the world for Christ from the city of Tokyo! You can be a part of this as you join with us as we worship and serve the Lord. No matter where we are from, when you come to Yokota Church, we welcome you home!
