OUR MISSION
The mission of Yokota Church is shared in common with all churches to whom Jesus gave the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
"The Mission of Yokota Church is to see each individual, as well as our church, fulfill the Mission of Jesus to Make Disciples who Make Disciples, and to do so by Loving Everyone with the Love of Jesus!"
The Great Commandment
Mark 12:30–31
30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
31 “The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:19–20
19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

DREAM STATEMENTS
"Dream Statements" were created by our "Vision Team" as we sought to put into words how we would like to live out the FIVE BIBLICAL FUNCTIONS of the Church that are found in the book of Acts - CONNECT, GROW, SERVE, WORSHIP, GO!
CONNECT (Fellowship)
I dream of a church where fellowship is an inherent part of every member’s spiritual life.
I dream of a church where every member knows, cares, and prays for other members of the church.
I dream of a church where close relationships that are fostered by God’s word grow.
I dream of a church where we connect to community, connect with people outside of the church, welcome guests, and connect to people who have never heard the Good News of Jesus.
I dream of a church where new people can find friends easily.
I dream of a church where men, women, and children can build strong and lasting relationships.
I dream of a church where we connect by the Spirit of God to the local community and beyond through the manifestation of the love of God
I dream of a church where fellowship is delightful and engaging, gives freely, and is life-giving.
GROW (Discipleship)
I dream of a church where each member’s spiritual gifts are discovered, recognized, and developed to be used in ministry.
I dream of a church where disciples are empowered to demonstrate both the fruit of the spirit in character, and gifts of the Spirit in ministry.
I dream of a church where believers are encouraged to study the Bible personally and together.
I dream of a church where discipleship is our focus as we see “disciples who make disciples” to the 3rd, 4th, 5th generations and beyond as each member asks, “How can I help every person God places in my life to grow closer to Jesus?”
I dream of a church where we can provide Bible study groups and discipleship classes for people who are in each faith stage from new believers to mature believers.
I dream of a church where most people can explain our beliefs and testimony to others.
I dream of a church where there is consistent spiritual growth and maturity among the people.
I dream of a church where discipleship is inspiring, effective, and fulfilling.
I dream of a church where everyone will participate in Grow Track and Small Groups.
SERVE (Ministry)
I dream of a church where spiritual gifts are encouraged to be used in service and ministry, where members are blessed and filled with the spirit to do His will in them.
I dream of a church where people are quick to volunteer and find a place to exercise their gifts.
I dream of becoming a church where people come to serve, not to be served.
I dream of a church where people move from being spectators to being active in the ministry.
I dream of a church where we work together and involve others.
I dream of a church where members don’t rely only on the pastors for ministry, but where church members can minister to one another through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
I dream of a church where others can see the gifts and talents of others as they serve willingly.
I dream of a church where the people of God are submitted to His will for service to those inside and outside the walls of a building.
I dream of a church where gift-oriented ministry is a living and holy sacrifice to God, where people serve the Lord enthusiastically as faithful stewards.
GO (Evangelism)
I dream of a church with an evangelistic focus where every member is encouraged, blessed, and instructed to reveal God’s love to others.
I dream of a church where everyone lives a life that reflects Jesus to others.
I dream of a church where people will tell their friends about Jesus
I dream of a church where we can send missionaries to other parts of the world, and be missionaries to others where God has placed us.
I dream of a church where we have events for local people to attend and learn more about Jesus.
I dream of a church where Japanese people can come easily and find others who can share the love of Jesus with them in their own language.
I dream of a church where people can come as they are searching for God and find love and peace from God’s people.
I dream of a church where the lonely, broken, hurting, and hopeless can come and find the love of Jesus.
I dream of a church with a Children’s ministry that inspires children to invite their friends.
I dream of a church where the boldness of the Holy Spirit is manifest in His people to preach the Gospel to all people.
I dream of a church where evangelism is strong in grace, filled with the Holy Spirit, and people are launched out to preach the Good News.
WORSHIP
I dream of a church where we worship in truth and in spirit.
I dream of a church where our worship ascends to the Lord, and His power and love is poured out on us in such a way that the world knows He is real.
I dream of a church where worship is God-centered, aligned with God’s will, and grounded in humility.
I dream of a church where worship is a Spirit-filled time with the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, with revelation, miracles, and prophecies flowing through members of the church.
I dream of a church where people engage in personal worship at home, as well as corporate worship as we gather.
I dream of a church where people worship by offering their time, tithe, talents, and testimony.
I dream of a church where everyone understands the joy of being cheerful givers and faithful stewards.
I dream of a church where worship is alive, vibrant, and life-changing.
I dream of a church where personal and corporate prayer is a focus.
I dream of a church where transformation takes place.
I dream of a church where worship is inspiring, praise is contagious, and God’s people are vocal in their expressions of worship to the Lord.
I dream of a church where everyone can feel the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit.
